We were extremely concenred with the brim of the
Chapel de Fer. We wanted it to be able to withstand the rigors of SCA
combat plus we wanted it to not be damaging to SCA weapons. Therefore we
decided to weld a rod .250" round stock around the rim, and then curl the
rim down around the stock.. We started by cutting the approximate length
of stock and attaching it to the brim. |

Finishing up and snipping off the excess. The bar
stock is now in the proper place. We tack welded it on, and then
proceeded to weld it on fully. |
